Nancy Thompson, St. Olaf College
Teaching
I teach introductory courses in Art History and upper-level courses in medieval and Renaissance art, including a January interim course in Florence. I also teach Introduction to Women’s Studies and a course on Women and the Arts. During the 2010-11 and 2011-12 school years, I will be teaching in St. Olaf’s Great Conversation Program. I’ve been reading up on my Homer!
I am finishing up a series of articles on the revival of medieval stained glass in nineteenth-century Florence. For my next project, I am going to return to the Middle Ages (and to my dissertation) and write a book on The Franciscans and stained glass in the 13th and 14th centuries.
I have been teaching at St. Olaf since the fall of 2000, and I love it. I live in Minneapolis with my husband, my 10-year old stepson and my 2-year old son.
